Not Afraid

You see me in the parking lot the Warrior that I am

I know what your mind is thinking

I’m glad that’s not me

Do you look away because it’s too real?

And looking isn’t right when you are pitying in your mind?

Is it hard to look at people who are supposedly “Less than”

But society cannot endure the hard and real

What you don’t know is the real beauty of life is more fragile to me

The mornings when things go right are more real to me than you

Time that is free and healthy days are a true pot of gold

When I’m alone, I have more to appreciate than you will ever know

We do not always understand our lives

But we take on the human being that is greater than words can write

And for those who look and smile, don’t look away and even approach us

The bravery and rarity you give fill us for days, because you my stranger, are truly

Not afraid

I made up this poem after leaving a shopping trip.  I thought about the feelings, the looks, and the reality of this life.  The world is not all encompassing. Others cannot hide their faces.  It is okay we are too “Not afraid.”

Caught a Great Smile!

  1. Absolutely beautiful and real. You have a gift of words and I’m so glad you are writing to speak to all! Adore you doll!
