From Mountains to the Dance Floor

The mountains and the stress involved with those horrific hours are now behind us.  We grow stronger from every time we sit on nails waiting for a bit of relief, but we persevere.  Now we were home and back to routine.  Good sweet loving routine. It’s like a gift for us all, routine that is;  but for our compromised family members I have come to learn routine is the heartbeat of having good days.  And we were more than ready to have some good days with Anna’s mood.

Prom came to us on May 8, 2026.  It was a great time this year with the theme of the circus!  I just love clowns (serious statement).  But I wanted to “match” Anna this year and we decided to be lions.  And dad?  What would he be?  Enter lion tamer.  We ordered our costumes.   It was hard to NOT be a clown but fun to match Anna too.

I have begun taking the day off of work because the Prom is from 11-1pm.  It’s right in the middle of the day, with costumes to gather and pull off we need the morning time.  Another friend of mine with her family took the day off also!  We enjoy the festivities together.  They were clowns and their son was the Master of Ceremonies, so very similar to the lion tamer.  We had a fantastic time.  Their son, Harrison, won for best costume overall, go mom!  It had to be his handsome look and also the sequins, which should always be involved in first prize.  Anna won the second prize, most likely because we all fit the theme together!  What fun it was. They were given choices for prizes and Anna chose a cute basket full of toy goodies and Harrison’s dad picked them some lovely baked goods.

The kids in the gym at this event are all encompassing, they love each other and give each other equal attention.  The older kids take Anna and Harrison and push them around and encourage them to be a part of the dance train.  The moms and dads get to talk and visit and let me just say Anna’s class is spoiled, treated so well on every day, but this day is just a party for them.  Each and everyone of them. There were elephant ears that this Warrior mom enjoyed.  In fact, my lunch was cake and elephant ears.  Truly I was at the circus. A much needed better kind of circus to feel the love and joy of life, to really enjoy the great times.  Thank you to her staff and team for all they do.

Thank you for reading our Blog.
