Summer Shorts

I’ve decided for summer I’m going to print a series of “Summer Shorts.”  Short clips of Anna’s life.  As I’ve mentioned before, summer is the busiest time of the year for us.  Busy in every aspect, our lives and our schedules are flipped.  So I will shorten this lovely blog for the summer season.

This week’s summer short revolves around our sweet granddaughter, Elsie Jane. She had a sleepover.  It is busy being a mom to Anna while being a granny to Elsie but like all things Warrior, we power through.  It’s busy times two!   

Elsie is enjoying “helping” give Anna her medications. This is a fun way to interact with Anna and Elsie is very curious and ready to give these to Anna.  Elsie is a unique child as she likes to take medications, when sick of course.  But she is fascinated that Anna takes many and it seems every time she is over we are giving her medication.   This is funny because all three of mine never did make medicine time easy.   I had many days of them spitting it out.  I had to literally chase Gabrielle down the street at times and pin her down to get that medicine in her belly.  What a joy my granddaughter is.  

We walked to McDonalds for breakfast and Elsie gets a kick out of Anna in the wheelchair in the house and the stroller in the house.  They both go down the ramp, Paul pushes Anna and I push Elsie.  It’s like a dance train making our way to the McDonalds which is literally around the block from our home.  We also enjoyed some family time at the local loved ice cream place, Blue Sky. Bring on the summer fun!

Summer school starts today and we are in full “Summer Shorts.”
