It’s been a grueling week.  It’s hard to remember what’s happening every day in the summer.  Yes, I use the school calendar, but each week I have to think, summer school on Monday?  No, that’s over this week.  I program my brain, Tues Weds Thurs now until the first week of August.  Then I think

Warriors have all had it happen.  The darn medical supply company stops delivering diapers.  At first, you think the shipment is off, maybe because of a holiday (Fourth of July) or some delay in delivery.  Then, you realize it’s been way too long.  You pick up the dreaded phone and wait on hold as long

7/9/2002. I say that date all year long.  Today is Anna’s 24th birthday.  We went to a needed doctor’s visit at 8 am, then went to Target (Anna loves to shop).  I got her some new shorts and T-shirts.  The thing most Warrior moms have tons of but still like to buy is clothes.  Then

I’ve learned over the years, and as my finances have allowed, that you must supply backup.  You must take care when you have a child like Anna to be ready.  You need two or three of everything.  In fact, getting things in threes is advised when you use them enough!  Make your life simpler.   I

Anna and I had a girls’ afternoon this week.  After doing the needed things, appointments, errands, etc.  We headed to a fun destination.  A blast from the past, in both atmosphere and people.   Let me explain.  Years ago, I worked with a delightful human being.  Her name is Lisa. We waitressed together.  She was always

Summer school is in full swing.  The bus comes later and I’m leaning into my mornings.  On days when Anna has no school (like tomorrow) I will have coffee outside with my dogs before the sun comes up.  The nice weather is soothing my soul.   Anna’s new bus driver parks the bus diagonal.  I’ve never

I’ve decided for summer I’m going to print a series of “Summer Shorts.”  Short clips of Anna’s life.  As I’ve mentioned before, summer is the busiest time of the year for us.  Busy in every aspect, our lives and our schedules are flipped.  So I will shorten this lovely blog for the summer season. This week’s

As I’ve said before, “Lazy days of summer” is a twisted term for me.  Summer is the busiest and most unorganized time of our year.  Anna is out of school, and we try to make a routine, which is a joke in itself.  There is no routine to days that have no bus to scurry

The mountains and the stress involved with those horrific hours are now behind us.  We grow stronger from every time we sit on nails waiting for a bit of relief, but we persevere.  Now we were home and back to routine.  Good sweet loving routine. It’s like a gift for us all, routine that is;

We recently took a short trip to North Carolina.  It is a bi-yearly trip.  Anna does not always travel well.  This took me a few weeks to write about this day.  It is important to write about.  It is ugly.  It is difficult.  It is the truth.  On our last day there Anna was not
